As a part of the base functionality that came with our app launch earlier this year, customers could view their account history, find nearby payment locations, view current bills and schedule payments directly from the iPod/iPhone/iPad® app. Customers could also manage their account details and settings through the app, contact customer service and find power outage numbers. Since then, we’ve added some new features designed to make it even easier to manage your account.
New Feature: Cost & Usage Summary
This is a handy feature to have when you’re on a tight budget and need some help estimating how much your monthly bill will be. When you click on the “Usage” icon at the bottom of the screen, you’ll be able to see your current kWh usage and how much that usage costs. Scroll down on the page and you’ll see a projected amount – an estimate of your bill at the end of the month based on the way you’ve been consuming electricity so far. Note that you must have a “smart meter” installed at your home in order to receive this dynamic data.
New Feature: Usage Graph
Under the same “Usage” icon, you can also pull up your Usage Graph – a chart that maps your electricity consumption in kWh against temperatures in Texas for a rolling 12 month period.
New Feature: Bill Comparison
Now you can see how your electricity bill changed from one month to the next. You can get this information using the “Bill” icon at the bottom of the screen.
In addition to these great features, you can also manage multiple TXU Energy accounts on this app. If you see a horizontal row of white dots on your screen, you can swipe left or right to access the same views for your other accounts.
