Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s a…plantascraper? You heard that right. A Swedish agricultural design firm called Plantagon is finally bringing its long-time vision to the skyline of Linkoping, Sweden in the name of urban self-sufficiency. The firm is working on a 17-story “vertical greenhouse” that will serve the city in more ways than one. This tall, beautifully green structure will act as a regenerative food bank, and because it’s located in the middle of an urban city – it needs to be tall rather than wide. Actually, the tallest of these vertical greenhouses are called plantascrapers.
