With state and city budgets tightening, many school districts are starting to feel the pressure. TXU Energy was able to help out one district, however, with a $260,000 award for completing energy efficiency measures in its schools ̶ paid through our Brighten® GreenBack program.

Through Brighten® GreenBack, we pay rebates for each of our listed energy-efficiency activities up to a maximum amount, which varies from plan to plan. During the course of this promotion, we’re helping companies across Texas increase their energy efficiency so they can cut down on usage and save money for years to come. Cypress-Fairbanks ISD (CFISD) recently completed energy efficient designs for a middle school, and replaced various lighting and chillers across their campuses to increase efficiency. Their efforts earned them a rebate of $260,000 from TXU Energy.

By partnering with TXU Energy through this program, CFISD has also been able to save money on electricity with our competitive rates and plans. Assistant Superintendent for Facilities and Construction of the school district, Roy Sprague, commented on the joint venture, saying, “We are very excited to continue our partnership with TXU (Energy) as our electrical service provider.”

With a partnership that results in savings that will be reinvested to benefit the students and instructional staff of CFISD, there’s no limit to the possibilities.
