House

Small changes can help you save.

Whether it's working from home, taking care of kids or cooking more, our daily habits are different these days. And that means our homes are using more energy than usual, especially during these hot summer months.

Luckily, these tips and tools can help you save and keep comfortable while you're inside more.

On hot days, your A/C drives most of your energy usage, so your thermostat setting is important.

Raising it by 4° can reduce your usage by as much as 20%.

Ceiling fans will also cool a room by about 4°.

Change your air filters regularly, since your A/C is working harder.

Replacing your air filters will help your A/C cool efficiently.

Check your filter for how often it should be replaced and set a reminder to swap it out.

Grill outside to keep your kitchen cool and cleanup minimal.

Your slow cooker and Instant Pot are also great alternatives to the stove or oven – cooking low and slow will help keep the temperature down.
